Flow State FAQs

Do I need to be a certain level to perform?

Not at all! Flow State is open to all Maya students, from complete beginners to advanced performers. Everyone starts somewhere, and we'd love to cheer you on.

I've never performed before. Is that OK?

Absolutely. For many students, Flow State is their very first performance. The atmosphere is relaxed, supportive, and full of people who genuinely want you to do well.

Do I need to choreograph a routine?

Nope! You're welcome to perform a fully choreographed routine or simply freestyle. Whatever feels right for you.

Can I choose my own music?

Yes! You can send us the song you'd like to perform to, or if you'd rather, we'll happily choose one for you.

Can I perform with someone else?

Of course! Solo, doubles, or group performances are all welcome.

What can I perform?

Anything you've been working on! Pole, hoop, sling, heels, silks, or a combination. Whether it's a routine, a sequence you love, or an improvised flow, we'd love to see it.

What should I wear?

Whatever makes you feel comfortable and confident. Dress up, keep it simple, sparkle, wear your favourite pole set... there are no rules.

Can my friends and family come?

As this will be many peoples first time performing we want them to feel as comfortable as possible so this is only open to Maya students.

I don't want to perform. Can I still come?

Definitely! We'd love you to join us as a spectator. It's a brilliant evening to support your fellow Mayans, soak up the atmosphere, and maybe even get inspired to perform next time.

Will there be photos and videos?

Yes. We'll usually capture photos and videos throughout the evening to celebrate the event and share highlights on our social media. however if you don’t want to be recorded that’s not a problem- just let a member of the team know.

What if I change my mind?

That's completely OK. If you've signed up to perform but no longer feel ready, just let us know as soon as you can. Our standard cancellation policy applies.
