PHOEB STONE
Phoeb (they/them) fell in love with pole dancing five years ago in Canada. In August 2020, they began attending as many classes as possible at Maya and have continued to engage with their body through pole; discovering it as an opportunity to challenge themselves and express their creativity in a new way.
Phoeb loves hanging off an elbow and building strength on the pole. Phoeb loves to share their passion for cultivating joy and helping students recognise how capable and strong they are in classes. Their teaching principles are to be inclusive of all bodies and identities, and encourage students to explore their own power and strength on (and off) the pole!
Phoeb organises Maya Social hang outs for all students (like attending Queer as F*ck Cabaret and local circus events) and runs Inclusive Pole Practices weekly. They run the regular studio showcase Flow State: an opportunity to perform to a small and friendly group of peers as a safe place to get familiar with performing, have fun, and practice for competitions. Wholeheartedly, they are dedicated to building community and creating a thriving environment for everyone to flourish.
